Making Changes!

Recently I've been searching for a new job, I currently work at a fast food place and although I used to be primarily on front register they started putting me on back window and I do not like it. I started looking for a new job mainly though so I could potentially make more than minimum wage. I ended up applying to a few different places, and one of those places was Sheetz. Sheetz is a fast paced gas station/convenience store/food place which isn't much different from fast food in retrospect but they pay above minimum wage. $8.25 per hour starting out to be precise, so just a little bit more than I make now. I read reviews and they have really nice benefits and quarterly bonuses so I figured hey, better benefits and pay for about the same thing I'm doing now? Why not?

I was called on Sunday and set up an interview for yesterday (Tuesday) and it went incredibly well! The woman offered me the job right on the spot! She was very impressed that  I had brought my resume and knew a little about the company and said that usually no one does. So she asked if I thought Sheetz was for me, and I decided to go for it. I went to get drug tested right after (standard procedure, i'll obviously pass since I have never done drugs lol) and she said they will probably get the results hopefully by sunday and then she will call and set up a time when I can come in for training and such.

It makes me nervous to put my two weeks in at my current job though because I've never put my two weeks in anywhere before so I don't really know how it will go. They will probably try and guilt trip me into staying because they do that sometimes and I just don't want to deal with any of that. Then, I'm worried that I won't get as any many hours as I do now... I mean I'm sure I will get a decent amount of hours, it just worries me that I might not. Plus I'm worried that I might possibly hate working there, what if it's worse than my current job is? My current job is tolerable on a good day but some days are awful. I'm going to be making a bit more money though and will have better benefits and it did have mostly positive employee reviews...

I will have to just see how it goes though, as they say, "you'll never know if you never try" I'm hoping for the best!

Such a relief!

Today I was scrambling to finish my Math and Economics homework that are both due at midnight tonight, I have been working on them throughout the week but they were both very involved and I needed help countless times. So today during the 3 hour break I have between classes I tried to finish up my math but I also had to do this take home problem that was part of my math test. I was able to complete all but one problem on the homework assignment and just barely finish the take home problem... Being that I was scheduled to work 2-11 tonight I realized that there was absolutely no way that I was going to get that other problem AND my economics homework done after i got off work before 11. And since my last class ended at 12:50 I am rushing to get home and get ready to leave so there would be no time at all to do it before work. I was completely stressing out. My boyfriend suggested that I just call work and ask them if it would be okay if I came in at 4 instead of 2, so I did and they said yeah no problem! I can't even stress how much of a relief that news alone was!

So here it is, 2:50 and I just finished ALL of it!
I am done!!

I'm so so relieved that I got it done, I really wouldn't even have been able to get it done after work because I usually don't even get out right away and the problems were somewhat involved. I am so glad it's complete and I no longer have to worry about it. Now hopefully I will have a stress-free day at work! Tomorrow I am off and I get paid and there is nothing I have to worry about and it will be glorious.

Photoshop perks!

For my business class we have a group project where we have to create a business plan and present it. My group chose to have a Media business, specifically Photography and Videography and I'm actually kind of excited about it... I'm actually looking into photography as potentially my future career. I'm not going to school for it, since you really don't need a degree in photography to become a photographer, my plan was to just get a degree in business. So the fact that I'm already able to apply my interest in photography to a hypothetical business plan is going to be really beneficial!

My group decided to name our business Midas Media. This idea came from the story of King Midas who turned everything he touched into gold, so I decided to play around in photoshop and make a logo with our business name and slogan (Well along the lines of out slogan since I'm not sure what it is word for word).

I'm so glad we are (hypothetically) creating a photography business though, it makes the project that much more interesting for me! Now I just need to get on the ball in real life and buy my camera! I've been trying to for months but other expenses keep coming up so hopefully after those are taken care of I can start saving up again for the camera I want so I can start taking photos :)

I'm just trying to be a productive student..

This semester is the beginning of my 3rd year of college and I transferred to a different school. I live at home and commute everyday like I used to but it's only 10 minutes away. I am still trying to figure out where everything is at and what it has to offer and have not yet found the perfect study spot :( I am just trying to be productive but I can do the things I need to get done without a table and I can't find a good place with that.

Sigh,
the struggle...

My poor boots :(

Today I was on my way to class and as I was walking through the parking garage, my laces from one boot caught on the hook of the other boot and I almost completely wiped out! Luckily I had been walking by the railing and was able to grab onto it to keep from falling on my face... This guy saw it happen (which was slightly embarrassing) and was like are you okay?! After tying my one boot back up I continued on to class and once I had sat down I noticed that the hook on my boot had been entirely ripped out!!

These are my favorite boots! I couldn't believe it. So I emailed the manufacturer and place I purchased them from but they probably aren't going to replace them or anything, oh well. I will continue to wear them if they don't because I love them so much.

Video Alert #1

I'm going to start this topic to share Youtube videos that I have found, that I love or found interesting in some way shape or form. I will most likely be doing this as a weekly thing to start blogging about something solid as a regular habit.

So as for the video that inspired this topic, I present to you The Fox (Official music video) by Ylvis

I absolutely love this! The video was uploaded 6 days ago and has since gotten 12,767,978 views. Ylvis has a other music videos as well, so this isn't their first (My other personal favorites, since seeing this one are Stonehedge and Someone Like Me watch those too!) Basically this video just made me happy and I wanted to share it :)
